Please note that most brass falls into one of the following categories: 
Yellow – The most common variety, this type is commonly found in keys and household plumbing items such as your kitchen or bathroom faucets. Aptly named for its yellow hue, the value of this material fluctuates with both demand and the price of copper. 
Red – Less common than its yellow form, this type boasts a red hue that comes from the high amount of copper found within the material. When recycled, much of this material is used to make sprinklers or shut-off valves. 
Semi-red – This form has largely replaced red in terms of popularity and is often repurposed to make sprinklers, shut-off valves or an array of other useful items.
